Jumping through hoops to give your dog the best care.
No kennels just lots of love, attention and walks.
Dogs sleep in the house.
Located 2.5km from the village of Riogordo, Malaga.
I take dogs in at my finca in Riogordo where they live as family and are as spoilt as if they were my own. Dogs have access to the house and a secure concrete yard during the day and sleep in the house at night. They are walked on the lead for an hour morning and night (as long as it isn't too hot) and taken out to my secure exercise paddock for a run off lead as well.
Your dog will be live alongside my two Siberian Huskies (one male and one female) and my female Working Cocker and any other dogs that are staying up to a maximum of six visitors. Male dogs need to have been castrated and if an intact female to not be due in season. I can't look after dogs that are aggressive to either humans or other dogs. I will take in dogs that are elderly or nervous or that need that extra bit of TLC. I also don't have a problem dealing with dogs that are incontinent or that need a bit of help with house training. If your dog is destructive, please warn me in advance so I don't leave him unattended with my best furniture!
The key to keeping a large group of dogs together without problems is for them to receive plenty of exercise. Tired dogs are happy dogs. Where ever possible I walk the dogs together on their leads to encourage pack bonding and to emphasise my position as pack leader as I control both direction and speed. Going outside the gate and exploring the outside world in a controlled way is an important part of a dogs day. Imagine if you never left your back yard how bored you would get! Dogs are automatically taught not to pull as part of this process. If your dog has a problem with walking on the lead or any other behaviour problems, I would be happy to work with him and see if I can resolve it. After the walk on the lead dogs are then let loose in the field so they can run, play and just be dogs. I rarely go out, but when I do need to do some shopping I separate the dogs from different homes.
I have lived in Spain for 14 years . My dogs are used to sharing me and their home and are very well socialised. I do agility, hoopers and trick training with them. I have a youtube chanel where you can see some of the things I get up to with my dogs at http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCsn09fOQTKHCrLASdJSF9Q/videos
In order for the dogs to feel at home please bring their bed with them. You will also need to provide food for your dog as I believe it is important they stay on the same diet. If your dog refuses to eat during their stay I will do my best to get them to eat with chicken or gravy. Please tell me if they have any special dietary needs or food allergies. My own dogs live on a raw meat and bones diet, and I also cook occasionally for them. I have no problems feeding your dog on a raw or home cooked diet if that is what they are used to, as long as you provide the ingredients. Dogs will need to be up to date on their vaccinations, worming and have a flea, tick and mosquito treatment. Dogs should also wear a collar.
